To receive candy you can do two things: One way is to catch a Pokémon and get 3 candies. Another thing you can do is transfer them, your Pokémon, to the professor for 1 candy each. One glitch in the mobile game is when it says that any Pokémon near you are ‘three meters away’ from you. But it always tells you that. They could be further away, more than 3, 4 or 5 meters even.
